Tulane University Alumni Association Awards 2009

Distinguished Alumnus/a: The Distinguished Alumnus/a Award is presented on an annual basis and is the highest form of recognition given by the Tulane Alumni Association. The awards committee defines the recipient as: "One singularly successful individual who, through exemplary accomplishments and recognition, epitomizes the potential of a Tulane education and thereby brings credit and honor to the university". The criteria are as follows:

  • The recipient must be an alumnus/a of Tulane University.
  • The recipient must be in attendance at the designated ceremony in order to receive the award.
  • The recipient should have definable career accomplishments and/or excellence in his/her chosen field of endeavor.
Alumni Volunteer of the Year: The Volunteer of the Year award is given to "those alumni who, through their dedicated and voluntary efforts to support the programs and mission of Tulane, express their gratitude to the University and insure its enlarging impact on our community and future generations of students". The criteria are as follows:
  • The recipient must be an alumnus/a of Tulane University.
  • The recipient must be in attendance at the designated ceremony in order to receive the award.

Young Alumni Volunteer of the Year: The Young Alumni Volunteer of the Year award is given to a recent graduate who, like the Volunteer of the Year "through their dedicated and voluntary efforts to support the programs and mission of Tulane, express their gratitude to the University and insure its enlarging impact on our community and future generations of students". The criteria are as follows:

  • The recipient must be an alumnus/a of Tulane University.
  • The recipient must have graduated with in the past ten years.
  • The recipient must be in attendance at the designated ceremony in order to receive the award.
All alumni are eligible for consideration, with the exception of all active members of the Tulane Board of Administrators.

Nominations should be addressed to the Tulane University Alumni Awards Committee, 200 Broadway, Suite 209, New Orleans, LA 70118. All background information on a nominee must be compiled by the individual submitting the nomination.
